We asked about the experiences and concerns of patients living with tardive dyskinesia (TD) and caregivers of patients with TD to get a detailed picture of the burden of TD.

There were two online surveys in the United States between March and April 2021 that involved 269 patients with TD and 162 caregivers.

This summary presents the questions and results that we selected from the surveys to show how TD can affect a day in the life of a patient with schizophrenia and a caregiver. We have also included information for people with major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder so that you can also see the impact of TD on their lives and those of caregivers.
